THE STORY
The Roman home never died. It came back on the banks of the Brenta.
Andrea Palladio built Villa Foscari, La Malcontenta, near Venice in the 16th century. In Storaro's book, Palladio's villas revived the Roman house.
Three Academy Awards for cinematography: Apocalypse Now, 1979; Reds, 1981; The Last Emperor, 1987. Then he spent five years photographing the Roman world.
Created with a film camera. A double exposure made directly on the same negative, in a single frame. No Photoshop. Warm orange, the light of dusk, is for him the light of the hearth.
