Apocalypse Now Behind the Scenes: Under the Rotor Photo Print
A crew member holds a lighting rig high overhead as a helicopter sweeps low across a pale sky, its rotor blurring above him. Vittorio Storaro photographed this moment on the set of Apocalypse Now, where the crew worked directly beneath the aircraft they were filming.
Why it matters. Vittorio Storaro was the cinematographer of Apocalypse Now (1979), directed by Francis Ford Coppola. The film won him the first of his three Academy Awards for cinematography. Very few people have seen the film from his side of the camera.
The print. A fine-art photographic print made to order from Storaro's own image, carrying his signature as it appears on the original photograph. Available rolled, or framed in black with a white border, in four sizes. Printed and shipped by our professional print partner.
